NBCA Hall of Fame - National Queen's Competition

Soundcheck - Opening for Tony Terry

Homegoing - Tommy Dortch,III

I was asked to sing at the Homegoing Service for Mr. Thomas W. Dortch III — someone who was like a mentor and father figure to me. I didn’t know he had left word for me to sing this song, and when I found out, I was overcome. Though I was nervous and could hardly find my notes, I did my best to honor him. Mr. Dortch, his wife, and the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame he founded changed my life. They taught me to give back, to look back, and to bring others along — lessons I try to live by every day. I will always remember and honor the service and sacrifice of Tommy Dortch. I remember you in my prayers because I know you hear me, you hear us - thank you so much for pouring life and service into me!  We are still loving you "down" here until we all meet again.  Thank you.
